@jsolomonReports
CDC data suggests coronavirus may have been in California as early as December, way earlier than initially reported.

We in the Angel house have all wondered if Miss Angel and myself had it in mid-January.

I'm telling ya! Hailey was on breathing treatments in December. Nothing made her better until they finally kicked in some steroids.

I remember a lot of folks reporting here in November/December that they were very sick.

My aunt in Seattle had something (like the flu, but not the flu) - now we think it was COVID-19. Her husband works in a hospital and came down with it first, then he gave it to her. She had a fever for like 10 days and had the classic symptoms.
 Quoting: CuriousSeeker2999

Yep, it does sound like she had it. I was texting w/a friend earlier who said the same. She had it later January. Said she was pretty much down for 2 weeks, had trouble breathing and had to use a nebulizer. Assumed it was the flu, but didn't want to go to the doctor, pay a copay etc. just for a flu test. She kind of wishes she had now, as she's curious if that would've been negative.

Very interesting. I wonder if we're going to see much more come out of this as news of California's "severe flu season" turns into COVID-19?

Possibly, but the only way to know would be if they eventually start doing antibody tests like they've been talking about.

This is why there will be potential for hurricane force gusts in the upper mid atlantic and northeast US tomorrow, especially near the coasts.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Lots of possible doom going on - and keep feeling like somethng big is coming...

So yesterday afternoon, was sitting in my den with grandson & his 12 yr old sister, watching a silly tv show. We were all laughing and joking about a video of "aliens", just having a good time. Grandson was standing up, to my left. All of a sudden he makes a loud, weird groaning noise. I look over and he is going completely rigid, his eyes roll back in his head, and he starts to fall like a chopped down tree. He falls and hits a big cardboard box I had near my chair, which saved him from hitting the coffee table with his head. He was jerking like he was being hit with a high power electric charge.

He had a grand mal seizure, out of the blue. Never had a seizure before. Had come out of it by the time the ambulance got here. Vitals were relatively normal, so he didn't go to the hospital. I kept a close eye on him all night, but he didn't have any more problems. We will be calling his neurologist that treats his migraines, Monday.

That scared me sooo bad! To watch that happen and not be able to do anything! So blessed that he didn't get injured when he fell! Will feel much better if we can get some idea of what caused this to happen!
 Quoting: justanothergranny

Omg, this is so scary granny! Thank God things weren't worse. Sending prayers for a full recovery with no complications. And big virtual comforting hugs.

Granny my dog started having seizures seemingly out of the blue last fall. Turns out it was the flea and tick medication. My point being has he started any medications lately? Vaccines?

I went to the Costco in Bakersfield Friday morning first thing and they had at least 10 palates of TP and lots of water. I went in for a prime rib roast like they make packaged this time of year but they didn't make them this year. So I got the next best thing a rib eye roast. It is in the oven now. Should be done in about 4 hours.
It was strange to be in the store and very few people inside but a line outside. Good thing that I got there about an hour early. I should have gone Thursday which was senior day and they open I think at 8am. Oh well next time.
 Quoting: joinca

That sounds delicious. I'm making guisado verde, which is a slow cooked pork in tomatillo sauce. Just browned the meat and the onion/garlic and got it all in the crockpot. My whole house smells like garlic now.
 Quoting: KickinIt

They both sound wonderful and I’m going to try both. K, what cut pork did you get?

I did ham steak and jujjed up box scalloped potatoes. I think it’s Betty Crocker three cheese scalloped in the box. I slice up another Idaho potato par cook them in micro in water for 10 minutes and add a bit more milk than directions call for. I throw those frenches onions on top. I had some cooked bacon and threw that in too. Just followed the directions on box for rest. They’re really good and take 1/4 the effort of homemade. I mean REALLY good.
