Quoting: SomeChickontheNet Well YS has been swarming since mid-June (not good), the Lincoln, Montana area also went through a swarm that doesn't quite seem to have ended, now we have Idaho. I'm having a hard time convincing myself that these Idaho quakes are all aftershocks (STILL) from that 5.3 on Saturday. West coast always has my attention as well. These X flares just may cause a BIG, and I mean BIG, earthquake somewhere. Let's hope not. So much doom in such a small period of time! ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Quoting: Simple27 I agree that they should not be aftershocks this far out, but you are much more knowledgeable about eq's than I am. Yellowstone has been an obsession of mine for years, but I have to brush up on it. I couldn't understand the monitors so I sort of gave up on it. And I've never really studied eq's in terms of average numbers, and what's out of the ordinary. That's probably my next quest. That's why this thread is so fascinating.
