Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Prayers sent for Steve and Arnies friend.

A little over a year ago I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed in July and she was gone just after my Dads birthday in October.
Later the next year in June my Dad became sick with massive chills every 8-9 hours and the urgent care said angina and sent him home. The next day the ambulance had to be called and we went to the ER. There the nurse very first thing said that he was sepsis. He was transferred across the ER to the ICU where he was stabilized. It was a UTI. After 7 days in the hospital and then 2 weeks in skilled nursing on IV antibiotics he was OK. Although his blood work showed that he had a heart attack in the hospital. It was a VERY close call. Best wishes and prayers sent.

I remember all of this Jo. You have gone through a lot.

My beloved, favorite uncle just got out of the hospital. He's 91 and it ends up he had a bad UTI and pneumonia! They also said he has congestive heart failure. He's was already somewhat frail due to his age, and laying up in that hospital bed caused further weakness and atrophy, and he still has stuff in his lungs. Physical therapy has helped him a bit, but not enough. He's restricted on food now because he's having trouble swallowing. They don't think he'll last more than a month. I'm not ready to say goodbye to him yet. This one is going to be really hard. I need to find the strength to go see him in the next weekend or two (he's not in STL).

Prayers for your uncle too, Kickin. It's so hard watching a loved one suffer. : (

*waves* Hi! Sorry I've been quiet. For some reason, I'm banned and have no idea why. I think it's because I gave an admin a red karma when I thought he deserved it. They keep denying my ban appeal without a word or reason given, so I gotta use karma to bypass it.

Anyway, I'll probably be disappeared or something after saying that. I would sub, but I do not condone helping to fund a site that lets its moderators pursue vindictiveness over fairness.

That being said, if I do disappear, it's been a true gift talking to you all and I shall miss you and hope you all do well in the future.

It's been pouring rain here since early this morning. Thunderstorms coming in a bit later. Should rain well into tomorrow, and we're going to get around 4" total. We needed the rain, but geez, it feels like it's all or nothing with weather these days. Never anything gradual anymore.
