This will make 3 loaves.

4 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1 cup melted butter
4 eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
2 tsp baking soda dissolved in 2 tbs of hot water
6 very ripe, browned bananas

300 degrees bake an hour depending on oven.
Sorry its a big recipe I usually gave loaves away.
You can cut it down but I just posted off the card in my recipe box. Good Luck, hope it turns out.

Still in need of a banana bread recipe over here : )
 Quoting: Simple27

I think this is close to the one I make. I add nuts to one loaf and the other leave plain. I don't like recipes with baking powder in a nut bread.

[link to allrecipes.com]

This is a GREAT zucchini bread recipe. You must have the baking powder it in, tried leaving it out and it doesn't work. I also add more cinnamon.

[link to allrecipes.com]

I shred all my zucchini from the garden and put 2 1/2 cups in a baggie and freeze flat. Usually get about 10 -12 baggies - except for the last two years. Can't get the zucchini to grow at all. Who the heck fails at growing crookneck or zucchini??????

Yes both were googled but both are wonderful. I searched and searched for that banana bread one until I found one just right.

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
3/4 cup real butter
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
dash salt
4 over ripe bananas
1/2 cup chopped nuts
3-4 oz. chocolate chips

Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes until top springs back when touched.

I have never had one nor eggplant. Sad, right?? Maybe I know why my daughter is a pickie eater
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Take eggplant, slice it up, dip it in egg and roll in cornmeal. Then fry it. Closest thing to fried green tomatoes you can find.
 Quoting: JazzyG

Hmmmm, I might have to grow a plant or two to sample it.

For veggies we haven't had or aren't used to eating much, I like to grow them first, so we are used to eating the real thing instead of a veggie that is devoid of flavor and nutrients. I plant to put in an asparagus patch this year. I hate, detest, despise store bought asparagus.

One time my aunt and uncle to us on an asparagus hunting field trip. We collected a huge pillow case full of fresh asparagus. I kept telling her I hated it. She told me to hush, I would love these. She steamed till tender and then melted a bunch of REAL butter. There wasn't any asparagus left over. I think the 4 of us - aunt, uncle, mom and myself - gorged and then had an elimination problem for a few days. One shouldn't eat about 20 lbs of asparagus at one sitting......but oh my it was soooooooo worth it.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

I'm a weirdo. I love all the stuff most people hate. Asparagus, brussel sprouts, cooked kale, cabbage, cauliflower, squash, etc. So I can fully understand your asparagus buffet lol. The one thing I could never stomach was cooked spinach though. Love it raw but not cooked. Not even with mustard on it. Ewwwwwww.
 Quoting: JazzyG

I love store canned spinach and it must be chopped not whole leaf. Fresh or frozen = nasty. Can't stomach it. I have it by the case as it is something that helps to eliminate radiation in the body. Canned works as well as fresh or frozen so that works for me. It also is suppose to detox other poisons from the body. I started researching it more, got side tracked and didn't follow through. Note to self = research spinach

A hint for having bananas on hand all the time to make bread. Put the number needed for your recipe in a cabinet, leaving the rest out for eating. When they turn black but before they mold - I let mine turn totally black for best flavor - peal, put in a baggie, smooch flat and freeze.

When bananas are on sale, I buy a bunch and freeze. Banana bread whenever we want!
